معرفی یک پیانیست با ذوق به نام Yiruma

Yiruma is the stage name of Lee Ru-ma (born February 15, 1978), a South Korean pianist and composer. The name "Yiruma" means accomplishment in Korean.

Yiruma is well-known throughout the world, and his albums are sold all over Asia, as well as the North America and Europe. His best-known pieces are "River Flows in You", "Love Me" and "Kiss the Rain", the former two appearing in the album "First Love" (2001), and the latter appearing in the album "From The Yellow Room" (2003). Yiruma lived in Osaka, Japan, for six years before enlisting in the Republic of Korea Navy in July 2006 to begin his two-year military service, which is compulsory for all male South Koreans.[1]

Biography

Although he is known for his many albums, Yiruma has also composed for many musicals, films and plays.

Yiruma began playing the piano at the age of five, and moved to London when at the age of eleven, in 1988, to study at The Purcell School of Music. In December 1996 he participated in the album The Musicians of Purcell (Decca). He graduated from Purcell School of Music in July 1997, then graduated as a composition major from King's College London in June 2000. His first album was released by DECCA while he was still studying at Kings College. During this time, he also went on a music tour throughout Europe, and composed for musicals, film and theater. His love for romantic music in Paris (France) inspiring Yiruma to work with composers of shadow such as Samuel Vallee or Dan Wesley.

Two years after his second album, Yiruma released his third album, From The Yellow Room. Pre-order sales alone topped 30,000 copies and the album was top-ranked on many popular music charts, including Yes24, Phono, and Hot Tracks. His 12 city national tour was a sellout, and his November concert at the Seoul National Arts Center also sold out.

His 4th album, POEMUSIC, is full of lyrical melody. In 2006, the following year, he composed a main theme song for a popular KBS drama, Spring Waltz. In his fifth album, h.i.s monologue, he experienced a prepared piano technique which is about having percussion feeling in beautiful melody. While he was making his success continuously in the music industry, he made up his mind to give up his dual citizenship as a South Korean and a citizen of the UK, to join the Republic of Korea Navy, which is compulsory for all male Koreans.

When Yiruma finished his service in the Korean Navy, he performed the 2008 Yiruma Come Back Tour, Ribbonized, in 20 cities across Korea. On January 1, 2009, he became a DJ for KBS1FM Yiruma's Music from All Around the World.

Though widely marketed as a new age artist, Yiruma does not describe himself as such: “I’m Christian, and I am not a New-age artist. Most people misunderstand me.” Though, that having been said, such a statement indicates that there's a misinterpretation on his behalf between the religious side of the new age movement and that of the musical genre of New age, which although benefit from one another are not directly connected.

Misattribution

On YouTube and on various peer-to-peer networks, Yiruma's song Kiss The Rain is widely thought to be Rue's Lullaby from the Hunger Games novel. Fans of Twilight have also erroneously referred to River Flows In You as "Bella's Lullaby"; the actual score used in the film is "Bella's Lullaby", written by Carter Burwell.
